You Don't Need All The Tools: My Boring Business Tech Stack

Sep 04, 2025

There’s a certain kind of pressure that comes with running a business online.

Especially when you’re doing it on the side of a full-time job.

You scroll through Instagram and see polished dashboards, all-in-one automation flows, and people raving about the latest productivity app that’ll “totally change your workflow.”

And while everyone’s out here building high-tech ecosystems…
I’m over here thriving with a tech stack that’s honestly kind of boring.

But you know what? It works.

It’s simple, streamlined, and — most importantly — manageable.

Because when you’re balancing client calls, course launches, full-time work, and trying to remember what’s in your fridge for dinner…
the last thing you need is a dozen platforms pulling your attention in different directions.

So today, I’m giving you a peek behind the scenes at my no-fuss, get-it-done tech setup. The one that keeps my group programs running, my courses selling, and my digital products out in the world — without turning my side business into a second full-time job.

Why I Don’t Chase the “Latest & Greatest” Anymore

Early on, I fell into the trap so many online business owners do:
Thinking I needed every tool to look legitimate.

I paid for platforms I barely used.
I tried automation tools that made my workflows more confusing.
I subscribed to stock photo sites, project managers, and email platforms that honestly… stressed me out.

Eventually, I realized:
✨ More tools ≠ more success ✨

In fact, the more I simplified, the more space I had to actually show up, serve, and grow.

My “Boring” Business Tech Stack (That Keeps Everything Running)

Here’s what I use on a weekly — sometimes daily — basis. No fluff, just function.

  1. Kajabi: This is my hub for everything — courses, digital products, group programs, and even email marketing. I love how it keeps things all in one place without being overwhelming.
  2. Wrike: My project management brain lives here. Simple, organized, and just structured enough to keep me on track without overcomplicating things.
  3. Canva + Adobe Creative Suite: Canva for fast, easy visuals. Adobe for when I want full creative control and polish. It’s a “best of both worlds” combo.
  4. Microsoft Office: Old school, but dependable. Docs, spreadsheets, and presentations — all synced, all organized.
  5. Loom + Zoom: Loom for quick tutorials, walkthroughs, and async updates. Zoom for calls, coaching, and community connections.
  6. Slack: Great for group coaching spaces — especially when I want to stay connected without cluttering up email inboxes.
  7. SiteGround: My go-to for hosting. Reliable, fast, and never something I have to worry about.

The Real Reason This Matters

When you’re building a business on the side, tech should feel like support — not another source of stress.

It should simplify your systems.
It should support your client experience.
It should save you time, not steal it.

My tech stack might not be flashy.
But it works with me — not against me — and that’s what makes it powerful.
