I’m passionate about building authentic relationships and I’m totally obsessed with data. I’m always brainstorming new ideas and leaving a trail of sticky notes across my desk.
I love working with people who are excited about connecting with their perfect people on Instagram. For the past five years, I’ve built my own business on Instagram while teaching elementary school. I’ve also taught other teacher business owners to develop impactful brands and use Instagram to market their resources and connect with other teachers.
It all began when I started my Teachers Pay Teachers store. I was a new teacher looking for a creative outlet and a way to connect with other teachers. Teaching was hard and I needed a space with the freedom and flexibility to bring my ideas to life. My TPT store gave me the opportunity I was searching for and Instagram gave me the platform to meet other incredible teachers around the world.
In the beginning, Instagram was a little intimidating. I devoured any tips and information I could find about how to use Instagram effectively, but I quickly discovered that the advice other marketing gurus were sharing didn’t completely work for the teacher Instagram audience. That’s when I decided that I needed a different approach.
I took my love for learning new things, my background in teaching and instructional design, and my love for data, and I started experimenting. I took endless notes, tried lots of new things, made plenty of mistakes, and finally created the perfect combination of systems, techniques, and processes to build an Instagram strategy for my teacher business that actually worked.
Ever since then, I haven’t looked back!
I’m having daily conversations in my DMs with my perfect people and Instagram has consistently been the number one source of the traffic to my website and my store.
I’ve grown my email list exponentially and sold out multiple course launches. Even better? I’ve met some of my best business friends, collaborated with some big names in the teacher business world, and had the time of my life getting to know other teachers around the world.
In 2019, I took the plunge and pivoted my business to completely focus on helping other teacher business owners build their Instagram strategy.
I started the Teacher Instagram Club - a free community for teacher business owners to find new teachergram friends and learn how to use Instagram to reach their ideal audience and establish themselves as an expert in their niche. I launched my first Instagram course, the Teacher Instagram Guidebook, and I started Spring Fling, an annual online conference for teacher business owners. My business continues to grow and evolve and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
